Roadwarners

a Warner family adventure

Day 139. 1.13.20. Truckee. California.

Life on the road is hard let me tell you. We wanted a rest day from the friends and skiing so we enjoyed a homework day/lego day/hang out at the house day.

Books I’ve started reading books. Recommend “Where the Crawdads Sing” and Igoduala’s “The 6th Man”

Here’s a pic of Daisy…that says it all.

Day 133. 1.7.20. Oakland. California. Happy Birthday Laura. We ❤️ U.

Ok. We are for real leaving today. We did some last minute errands, got a present for Laura, and went over to JJ’s house after school.

…after Edwin picked up some mulch in Orinda.

The kids played. Laura picked a yummy dinner of pesto pasta, Caesar salad, and ice cream cake.

Edwin had driven over the RV and we left from there.

So this is what happens when you aren’t in the RV regularly for a while. Our biggest “accident” is often forgetting to lock the RV fridge and Edwin makes a turn and the fridge goes flying open and out pours the contents of the refrigerator. It is a total pain, always causes loud shrieking and quick stopping and panic ridden cleaning. We’ve had eggs cartons fly out and break. Brand new gallon milk jugs exploding on impact. Hummus tupperwares falling out and cracking. This time we had remembered to LOCK the fridge…but I had not apparently looked in the fridge because when we had arrived to Julia’s there was white and red liquid leaking out of the fridge and onto the floor. Unfortunately there was an open blackberry seltzer can that was open in the fridge and a glass of milk. Both had fallen over within the fridge and successfully leaked all over the fridge and its various vegetable and condiment compartments. Good think we didn’t just clean the entire fridge the other day 🙁

We weren’t anticipating rain or snow at all today and as we were leaving there was a 30% chance after 10 pm. Well I think we were on the pass for the 1 hour it decided to snow tonight. It made for a longer drive up to Tahoe than anticipated.

Day 138. 1.12.20. Truckee. California.

We had such a good day at Alpine we decided to go back to Alpine again instead of going to Squaw. There was not as much skiing done today by the adults as we decided to watch the KC Chiefs football game. The girls did however go out on their own and ski while we were watching the game which was a pretty neat thing that they are old enough to go out for 2 hours on their own, have fun and be responsible.

Fab 5

And the last few runs of the day were a blast.

Day 137. 1.11.20. Truckee. California.

And we are on the mountain. We skied Alpine today and the snow was real nice. Better than I had anticipated or heard. We actually had an epic day and purely enjoyed ourselves. Good times had by all.

Can you spot us all in the goggles?

Day 136. 1.10.20. Truckee. California.

We have NOT been very diligent with our journals the last few weeks. The girls in theirs and me via the website. I don’t think I’ve posted/updated anything since we got back to Oakland.

We spent the day getting caught up on work.

Day 135. 1.9.20. Truckee. California.

We enjoyed another day of hanging around the house. Playing in the snow. Playing with games.

Day 134. 1.8.20. Truckee. California.

Truckeee

Always nice up here in Truckee. There is not a lot of snow around the house but enough to play in for a bit.

We had a bear break into our house a few weeks ago. Thankfully we had friends come up and stay in the house and noticed this and cleaned up nicely but the friendly little bear did break our cabinets so today was errand and fixing day. Edwin took the girls to Home Depot in Reno, went to Scheels, and the grocery store.

I stayed at home and cleaned up our “donation” room gettting rid of things ready to donate. But I think we might have fun doing a garage sale next summer.

Day 132. 1.6.20. Oakland. California.

We were planning on leaving today. It takes a lot to get moving again. The last few days have been re-organizing the RV, cleaning my moms house, bringing things back to Estates Drive that had been brought over the last 2 weeks etc…

Now that we’ve been home for a few weeks, no one is really looking forward to getting back on the road. Everyone is liking the space and hanging out with cousins and friends.

Edwin had some things to finish up at 1700 and Julia’s don’t start school until tomorrow so they came over in the morning. We took down my mom’s Christmas tree which is always a big project so it was nice that we were all there to help.

Edwin didn’t make it back from 1700 till late afternoon and we had since decided to go up to Tahoe for a few days we felt it was no rush to shove off. Plus it is Laura’s birthday tomorrow so we decided to stick around for that and leave to Tahoe’s from Julia’s tomorrow night after dinner and cake.

Day 131. 1.5.20. Oakland. California.

The girls were over at Julia’s and I had been procrastinating enough, so I started my end of the year accounting.

We went to Morgan in the afternoon and saw Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker.

Then Emily came over for a sleepover in the RV. Yay.

Day 130. 1.4.20. Oakland. California.

The girls had a sleepover in the RV last night and got to play with a friend this morning.

Vera and I got hair cuts while Isabella practiced Simply Piano most of the day.

The we all went over to JJ’s for Laura’s birthday party. Isabella helped do the lip gloss activity. Emily and Vera performed put on a show and did magic tricks. Claire did jokes. It was a nice little party.
